Cadence is a set of tools useful for audio production. Cadence itself is also an application (the main one), which this page will document. There are other applications that are part of the Cadence suite, they are usually named as the 'Cadence tools'. You can install libreadline5-32bit if you run ubuntu 32bit. But the install directly is root/cadence/IC615 instead of the dir we created edatools/virtuoso.
Later when you install other tools, they will automatically generate the folder like /opt/cadence/MMSIM131. 6)Now we can search the IC615 in the search bar and select the IC615 tools. Then press Continue on the right corner. After a while, click start on the same position to begin installation.
Before we go 1 - any red line is a terminal command 2 - you can download cadence IC616/IC617 and MMSIM from this link 3 - here i assumed you have successfully installed centos 6.8. I'm still not able to solve some problem and i would appreciate any help (i'm still quite newbie on ubuntu). I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit. I am trying to install Cadence IC615 under ubuntu 14.04LTS. Cadence Virtuoso IC615. Wait until you need to crack all the activation and licensing crap.

Install Cadence Ic615 On Ubuntu Operating System
Cadence officially supports only Red Hat and SUSE.
- Open the Cadence Support page, http://downloads.cadence.com where you can download Installscape.
- Log into Cadence support.
- Click the Edit button located in My Download Preferences.
- Select the options, InstallScape using HTTP, and LINUX.
- Click the link highlighted above to open download links, and frequently asked questions about Installscape, and links to user documentation.
- Click the LINUX Download link to download Installscape.
We will now continue assuming that “IScape04.23-s012lnx86.t.Z” or a similar file exists in the ~/Downloads/ directory.
Note: The name of the downloaded file may change when Installscape is updated. - Extract the downloaded tar file. This can be done from the command line option after saving your download file. .
tar -xvf ~/Downloads/IScape04.23-s012lnx86.t.Z
This untars files to the home directory. - Install Installscape by running the following command:
exec iscape/bin/iscape.sh - Click the “Search & Install releases” tab. You are prompted to login using your Cadence support account.
Installscape may now be started at any time with the following command:
exec iscape/bin/iscape.sh - It is recommended to add “~/iscape/bin” to your path variable.
Installscape is now installed.
Troubleshooting:
The instructions that follow were developed from a virtual machine running Manjaro 20 (arch linux.) When tested, the java included with Installscape was unable to open out-of-the-box from Ubuntu LTS 18.04.3 and 20.04. OpenJDK was also unable to work. However, the official Oracle JDK 8 did work.
If you are unable to open and run Java and OpenJDK, (due to licensing) you may install them manually. Here is a link to the necessary instructions: https://tinyurl.com/t2ewtaq
An error that may occur is that the package “csh” (c shell) is missing and named “tcsh in the Manjaro repos. This error generates the error shown below when installing License Manager.

As evident from the above image, csh is missing. The “configure” installers run in C shell.
Note: If you use Arch and Ubuntu, you may find that when finished, programs install, but are not detected by Bash and Cshell. This “configure” option is inoperable, and packages are unusable. This is caused by “/lib64/ld-lsb-x86-64.so.3,” the package “lsb.” The system expects “/lib64/ld-lsb-x86-64.so.3.” This can be solved with a symlink, in both Manjaro 20 and Ubuntu 20.04.
sudo ln -s /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 /lib64/ld-lsb-x86-64.so.3
